Respect. Honor. Cleanliness.
Hey folks—my name is Mike Eshelman, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and founder of GraveGuard Graveside Maintenance. I started this service to help families keep their loved ones’ grave sites clean, cared for, and respected—even when you can’t be there yourself. Whether it’s Memorial Day, a birthday, or you just want to make sure it’s maintained with care—I’d be honored to help. Serving Stark County and surrounding areas with professional gravesite care.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does each visit include?
Each maintenance visit includes: · Headstone inspection for damage and stability · Removal of old flowers, wilted plants, and any debris · Removal of any sod that has grown over the concrete base · Trimming of grass around the stone, and removing weeds · Light brushing to remove mildew, algae, or grime buildup · Non-abrasive washing using safe, biodegradable cleaners · Gentle rinse of water · Dry buffing for a clean finish · Before-and-after photos of the site
Is your cleaning process safe for the stone?
Absolutely. We use soft-bristle brushes and biodegradable, non-acidic cleaners—no pressure washers or harsh chemicals. Our methods follow National Cemetery Administration guidelines.
I still see some staining. Does the headstone need more treatments?
All of these "After" pictures are taken at the finish of the graveside maintenance. The headstone is still wet, and may show dark spots. The difference after 24 hours is even more amazing. Any residual biological staining will continue to lighten for up to 6 months. That being said, I do repeat the cleaning process several times during the initial visit if needed. For heavily stained headstones, a second treatment down the road is not out of question.
Do you send photos after each service?
Yes. Every visit comes with before-and-after photos so you can see the results—especially helpful for long-distance families, and those unable to visit.
Do you clean military graves?
Yes. As a veteran-owned and operated business, we are honored to care for the resting places of fellow service members. All military graves receive a $10 discount, a flag installed, and a 21 second salute!
Where do you offer service?
We currently serve Stark County, Ohio, and the surrounding areas. Not sure if you’re covered? Contact us — we’ll be happy to confirm.
How often can I schedule maintenance?
We offer: · One-time cleanings · Seasonal care (Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter) · Monthly maintenance plans You choose what fits your needs.
